Manager, Accounting

Onsite | Full-Time

We're seeking an experienced Manager, Accounting to lead site-level accounting and financial operations in a collaborative, engineering work site environment. This role partners closely with site leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and sound financial decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee daily accounting and finance operations for the site
  • Manage key functions including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, tax activities, internal audits, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and cost analysis
  • Prepare profit & loss statements, forecasts, and historical financial reports
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, including variance analysis and cost-efficiency initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with site leadership as part of the management team on strategic and tactical planning
  • Support department leaders with budget development and financial guidance
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations, including audit firm selection and vendor management
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate accounting staff to drive performance and development
  • Represent the site on cross-functional or steering committees as needed

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • OR
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 5+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Proven ability to interpret regulations and ensure compliance
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systems

Preferred

  • Experience in mining or other heavy industrial environments

Work Environment

  • This is an Engineering job site, environment.
  • Primarily office-based with occasional work in operational or industrial settings
  • Ability to work effectively in a potentially high-pressure environment
  • May require limited lifting (up to 25 lbs) and use of personal protective equipment when applicable
